A message from our Interim Moderator Rev Dr Anne Logan:
We recently paid a visit to Glamis Castle, a place we’ve not been for about 45 years. It was a lovely visit, with much time spent in the gardens. The highlight of the visit, though, is the castle itself, steeped in history. As you pass through on the tour, you almost feel that the stones of the walls and floors could tell some tales.
As we celebrate Currie Kirk this weekend, I wonder what the ancient stones could tell us. They could recite the history of the generations who came before us and tell us their stories of love and loss, rejoicing and grief. For centuries the people of Currie have gathered before God on this site in time of laughter and rejoicing at baptisms, weddings, anniversaries, harvest, Christmas and Easter. They’ve gathered too for funerals, during wars, for armistice, in suffering. But they have always gathered in faith and hope.
This weekend, we also gather in faith and hope as we celebrate all that we have and all that we are.
17 The steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting
on those who fear him, and his righteousness to children’s children,
18 to those who keep his covenant and remember to do his commandments. Psalm 103; 17 – 18
Blessings! Anne
