A message from our Interim Moderator Rev Dr Anne Logan:
I noticed the other day that our little Vicotria plum tree has produced masses of blossom this year and is looking very bonny. For such a tiny tree (for the gardeners amongst you it is grafted on Pixie stock) it often produces a wonderful crop. This year, I am less sure that it will. The blossom is profuse and wonderful, but the weather is wet and windy. This little fruit tree, like so much of what grows in our gardens is dependent on the insects for pollination. Insects, rather like many humans are not so keen on cold, windy, weather. Creation reminds us time and time again, that we live interdependently – humans, plants, animals, glaciers, forests. Every part of creation has a role to play, and every part of creation is dependent on God. Let’s reflect this week on these wonderful words from the book of Job -
But ask the animals, and they will teach you, the birds of the air, and they will tell you; ask the plants of the earth, and they will teach you, and the fish of the sea will declare to you. Who among all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? In his hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of every human being. (Job 12; 7- 10)
Blessings! Anne
